The new feature that Nexon was premiering at E3 this year for Vindictus is a new character in the game, Karok. Characters and class are tied together in Vindictus rather than being fully customizable as in some other.

During my time spent at their booth I got to take a look at two games. The first thing I got to see was some updates coming to their already released action MMO, Vindictus. Vindictus is a game that, despite some issues, Ive always really enjoyed. If you arent familiar, it is a gorgeous and totally cathartic action RPG with visceral combat and realistic graphics. There is a huge focus on in-game physics, fast combat and an overall smash-things-in-the-face good time. Most time spent in the game is done so while running through dungeons with destructible environments and giant end boss mobs.

The current characters in the game are Fiona, a female sword and shield tank, Lann, a male dual wield swordfighter and Evie, a female mage. The new addition, Karok is a physically massive male character that uses a broken pillar as his 2-handed weapon. As I got to play him I noticed he was so big he seemed to barely even fit through doorways. Aside from his distinctive look, the things that set Karok apart are his sheer strength, and ability to not only grapple but grab bosses and perform moves like a head-butt. Most of his abilities focus on slower, hard-hitting melee attacks. Check out the video below of Karok in action.

One personal gripe I have as a female gamer in Vindictus is the tie to character gender and class. Id love to be able to play characters like Lann and Karok as a female because I generally always play female characters in RPGs, but alas it isnt meant to be. Karok will be available for play on June 15.
